Grafana Loki Logging
Stand up and operate Grafana Loki for horizontally scalable log aggregation. Configures object-storage backends (S3, GCS, Azure Blob), writes LogQL queries, tunes retention and compaction, deploys via Helm, and troubleshoots Loki on Kubernetes.
This skill helps you run Loki in production: choosing single-binary vs microservices mode, wiring up S3/GCS/Azure storage, setting retention and compaction, deploying with Helm, integrating OpenTelemetry log export, and debugging ingester and querier issues.
When to use
Use when deploying Loki, writing LogQL, configuring log retention and storage, integrating logs with Grafana, or troubleshooting a Loki stack on Kubernetes.
Examples
LogQL error search
Find errors across services
Write a LogQL query that surfaces all ERROR-level logs from the checkout service in the last 30 minutes, grouped by pod
Helm deploy with S3
Deploy Loki backed by S3
Generate a Loki Helm values file for microservices mode using an S3 backend with 30-day retention and compaction enabled
